Metal Mainia and a little biografy from my past.

This is a picture of me from 50 years ago on April 11th 1969. I was hired by the ship owner…. the largest wooden sloop in the great lakes at the time. A 52 foot main mast with a 36 foot missin mast. I am standing on bow sprit. It is docked at the Detroit Yacht Club. The owner wanted to sail to Japan to sell his sail boat. I was hired as his navigator and I have been working on his sailboat to prepare it for sale. While I was purchasing supplies for the journey the owner died from a heart attack only a few days before departure. Too bad he didn’t get to enjoy the final trip.
