I started out at 16 and now I am at a 8 gauge. I want to get to 6 gauge to match my PA ring. I find rings more comfortable. Also the larger gauge at 8 is not so pinchy. My piercer had to help me stretch up but all she had initially was the 16 and it was just too small. The 8 gauge can take weights.

Thank you, maybe you could take a look in person some time. I have stretched to 6 gauge now. I love the weight it provides. I am using a clicker type ring, 3/4 inches diameter. It feels awesome. Not sure I want to go bigger, it matches my PA gauge now.
